This little hammer has a nice wide face with flat sides, but is not very heavy. I use it for adjusting the iron on a couple of wood body hand planes (a small Japanese kanna and a larger Chinese style smoother). The square profile makes it easy to get clean taps on the wedge. Seems well made with clean casting / machining. Great value, great control for light duty use. This is not a sledge hammer.
